- Notes: SECU Family House at UNC provides a home-away-from-home for families with an adult patient being treated for a critical illness or injury at UNC Hospitals or its affiliated clinics. Families must have a permanent address and live more than 50 miles from Chapel Hill. Most rooms can accommodate up to 3 people. Free shuttle service to UNC hospitals. The house offers well-stocked pantry of donated foods for our guests (families fix breakfast and lunch on their own). Located next to Ronald McDonald House.

- Rate Details: The nightly fee of $54 for a twin or queen bedded room,$72 for a suite - includes room linens, use of kitchen and laundry and the rest of the facilities. Upon admission to the House, the guest is expected to pay up to one week in advance and each week thereafter. This includes bus service to and from UNC Hospitals, laundry facilities, a help-yourself pantry with snacks and food staples, and access to a library with Internet resources.
- Booking Instructions: To request a room the house must receive a referral from UNC Hospitals or a clinic, you will be placed on a waiting list. If it is your first visit, the House will contact you directly, either by phone or by mail ahead of time. After your name is placed on the waiting list, you will need to call the House between 11 am and 4 pm, on the day you will be arriving, to see if we have a room available.SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals is open to all adult (18 years and older) patients at UNC Hospitals and their family members and caregivers.
