Notes: The Family Room is a special place within Children’s Mercy Hospital where inpatient families can rest and still be close to their child. The Family Room offers a comfortable home-like setting including a living room area with a television, fully equipped kitchen and a quiet room for conversation and phone calls. The Family Room also has seven bedrooms for napping, showers and a laundry facility. Overnight accommodations are available to families with a child in the PICU, NICU or the Burn Unit.
Children Policy: In order to stay in the house the patient must be 18 years of age or younger but may be accompanied by as many as 5 family members.

Rate Details: The rate of $10 is requested but if you are unable to pay, no family is ever turned away for financial difficulties.
Booking Instructions: Call the social work department at Children's Mercy Hospital and get them to make the reservation. In order to stay in the Family Room the patient must be a child 18 years of age or younger but may be accompanied by up to 5 family members. Priority is given to families living more than 35 miles outside of Kansas City and patients must be referred by a social worker or nurse.
