- Notes: LilyPads Housing provides free, short-term housing in volunteer host homes for families and caregivers of patients undergoing treatment at UVA Children's Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. We also provide families with additional holistic support such as sibling activities, meals, groceries, transportation, toiletries, and self-care items. UVA Children's Hospital families in need of housing are carefully matched with a screened volunteer host who will provide a safe, clean, comfortable place to stay and access to a bathroom. LilyPads Housing serves families regardless of age, diagnosis, race, ethnicity, citizenship, religion, income level, gender identity, sexual orientation, or ability. Houses vary! - Rate: Free Lodging, Donations accepted
- Effective Dates: September 15, 2025 until December 31, 2026
- Rate Details: Eligibility requirements include: Have a child who is a pediatric patient at UVA Children's Hospital or who is in active treatment through UVA Children's Hospital (at least 1 appointment/week). Are an important support person for the patient. Live more than 40 miles from UVA Hospital hospital. Have a permanent home to return to after their stay. Are not moving to Charlottesville permanently. Have never been convicted of a violent or property crime or sexual violation. Have not been convicted of a drug or alcohol offense in the last five years. Are not likely to put the host family at risk.
