Notes: Located in the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center, the Fisher House provides a “home away from home” so that America’s military families can be together during extended treatment for a serious illness, lengthy physical or occupational therapy. A 16,000 square foot facility with 21 private guest suites, the Fisher House creates a compassionate environment where families find support and encouragement with others in similar circumstances. he VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System serves Veterans from the Southern Los Angeles County, north to San Luis Obispo County and east to Kern County.

Rate Details: There is no fee to stay at Fisher House. Guests must be a family member of active duty or veteran in-patients, or those receiving extended, episodic out-patient therapies. Guests must reside more than fifty miles away. Guests must be self-sufficient and able to independently care for themselves, or be accompanied by a caregiver.
Booking Instructions: Contact the social worker at the VA Hospital. In most cases, the VA social worker or case manager will conduct an initial screening and place a referral for residence at the Fisher House. Referrals to the Fisher House should be done in advance. The Fisher House Manager will determine eligibility and advise the family on the status and appropriateness of the referral and availability. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
