- Notes: Gift of Life provides transplant patients (organ, stem cell, or bone marrow) and their caregivers with high-quality, affordable accommodations in a supportive, home-like environment featuring 48 guest rooms, each with a private bath; 3 kitchens;4 dining rooms; 5 dayrooms with televisions, VCRs, personal computers with free Internet access for guest use; and a children’s playroom with toys, a kid’s computer station, a television, and a VCR. Rochester Transportation Systems (RTS) provides a complimentary shuttle on weekdays to and from Mayo Clinic and local hospitals. There are two houses.
- Children Policy: Non-patient visitors under the age of 17 are not allowed to visit or stay at Gift of Life because most of our patients have suppressed immune systems.

- Rate Details: Gift of Life House does not offer advanced reservations. Due to the nature of the guests’ medical conditions, they can not be expected to have firm check-out dates. Consequently, the house can not guarantee a room days in advance to a new guest. The House charges a nominal $30 per night for lodging and a $40 once-per-visit for room cleaning to help maintain a healthy environment for our immune-suppressed guests. ($10 per night for an extra person in the room)
- Booking Instructions: To gain admission into Gift of Life, prospective guests (patients and/or caregivers, preferably both) must first take a tour of the House. Tours are given in the afternoons, Monday through Friday, by appointment only. Screening questions will be asked of all guests as they call to schedule their stay..During the tour, we explain the House’s policies. If these policies are agreeable to the prospective guests, the desired lodging dates ae documented. Prospective guest call the business day before arriving in Rochester. That is the earliest room availability is known.
